The successful candidate will act as a strategic consultant to the trade industry, building deep partnerships with architects, builders, and contractors. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise, interpreting complex blueprints, and delivering profitable market solutions to ensure long-standing growth within the residential and light commercial sectors.

Responsibilities:
Business Development: Proactively originate new customer relationships through consistent networking, referrals, and face-to-face meetings.
Proactive Prospecting: Spend approximately 75% of your time developing new business through strategic prospecting activities and planned quality meetings.
Consultative Selling: Engage in a consultative approach to recommend product arrangements that influence customer buying needs and project specifications.
Technical Execution: Accurately read, interpret, and perform "take-offs" from blueprints and engineering drawings to provide precise project quotes.
Industry Networking: Represent the brand at professional group events, HBA meetings, and builder home shows to position products within building plans.
Account Management: Manage lengthy sales cycles by creating trust and developing long-standing partnerships with existing accounts.
Customer Education: Educate partners on manufacturer installation guidelines and technical measuring to ensure product accuracy.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Operations and Accounts Receivable to ensure successful after-sale service, installations, and accurate billing.
Project Precision: Utilize CRM tools and electronic quoting software to ensure all orders are accurate and follow company processes.

2?4 years of related sales experience including technical product expertise, or a Bachelor?s degree from a four-year college/university.
Industry Knowledge: Previous experience specifically within the building materials or architectural products industry.
Technical Literacy: Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
Sales Acumen: Demonstrated success in securing and managing complex sales projects and closing deals through value-based negotiation.
Networking: Strong interpersonal skills with a natural ability to engage new people and build a professional network.
Systems Proficiency: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and experienced in leveraging CRM tools to manage customer interactions.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on detail and follow-through
Software Expertise: Familiarity with specialized quoting systems or PQM software.
Project Management: Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
