Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
-Drive implementation of the company's strategic plan for economic and workforce development
-Identify emerging trends and opportunities to position the city as a competitive and attractive region for business investment
-Provide leadership to Economic Development Team, guiding and developing them for success in their roles
Business Attraction & Retention:
-Develop and execute programs to attract new businesses and support existing employers from small business to large business.
-Build strong partnerships with local, regional, and state stakeholders to advance economic growth initiatives
Workforce Development:
-Collaborate with educational institutions, employers, and community organizations to address workforce challenges and create talent pipelines
-Lead initiatives that enhance workforce readiness and retention
Community Engagement:
-Serve as an ambassador, representing the organization at public events, meetings, and with media
-Foster relationships with government officials, business leaders, and community partners to align efforts and resources
Data & Reporting:
-Monitor economic indicators and provide regular reports on progress toward strategic goals
-Utilize data-driven insights to inform decision-making and program development
Working hours: Various Shifts Available
Skills:
A Master's Degree and/or certification as a Certified Economic Developer (CEcD) from the International Economic Development Council is preferred.
Education:
Bachelors
Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Public Administration, or related field
-Minimum 5 years of experience in economic development, business development, or related leadership roles
-Strong understanding of workforce development strategies and regional economic trends
-Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
-Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results in a fast-paced environment
-Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
