The Warehouse Supervisor leads material handlers and ensures that raw materials, packaging, and finished goods are stored, handled, and transferred in a manner that supports food safety, traceability, and efficient production operations. Ownership of materials begins following receiving and dock handoff from the Shipping & Receiving function.
Responsibilities:
Warehouse & Inventory Management
- Oversee daily warehouse operations across all storage locations (cold and dry), taking ownership of materials and inventory after the handoff from Shipping & Receiving.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, location control, and lot traceability, consistently enforcing FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out) principles.
- Lead and support cycle counts and inventory reconciliations with corporate Supply Chain and Quality teams.
- Ensure warehouse organization, labeling, signage, and storage standards are maintained.
Material Handling & Production Support
- Supervise material handlers responsible for transporting packaging materials to production and finished goods to warehouse locations.
- Coordinate material staging and line-side replenishment based on production schedules to ensure timely and uninterrupted production support.
- Establish standard work for material handling and replenishment activities.
Compliance, Quality, and Safety
- Ensure warehouse operations comply with GMPs, food safety, organic integrity, and appropriate storage/temperature control standards.
- Partner with the Quality team on inventory holds, releases, traceability, and external/internal audit support.
- Lead, train, and develop material handling staff, promoting a strong safety culture and enforcing safety policies related to all material handling equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks).
Collaboration and Improvement
- Partner with Production and Shipping & Receiving to ensure smooth material flow and coordination of handoffs.
- Coordinate with Maintenance for equipment/facility issues and communicate with the Plant Manager on operational performance and priorities.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities for warehouse layout, material flow, efficiency, and system enhancements.
Shift & Scheduling Expectations
- Requires flexibility to support production and warehouse operations.
- Willingness to work extended hours, weekends, or alternate shifts as needed based on production demands and facility growth.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 AM

Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or relevant coursework preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in warehouse or inventory management within a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Prior experience managing cold storage and dry storage environments strongly preferred.
- Forklift certification required or ability to obtain upon hire.
- Strong understanding of inventory control, FIFO/FEFO, and lot traceability.
- Familiarity with GMPs and food safety requirements related to warehouse operations.
- Ability to lead and communicate effectively with hourly teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, startup or restart environment.
