Spherion Fort Myers is seeking a meticulous and organized Accounting Assistant. In this role, you will be a key player in supporting the daily operations of our accounting department. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will handle essential bookkeeping tasks, including accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR), data entry, and invoicing. This position operates primarily in a climate-controlled office environment, with some time spent in our non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities:
Process, verify, and enter accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) transactions with precision and timeliness.
Generate, review, and send customer invoices.
Assist in the collections process by monitoring account statuses and performing follow-ups on past-due accounts.
Maintain accurate and organized digital and physical financial records, reports, and files.
Support the accounting team with month-end closing tasks and other projects as needed.
Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.
Adhere to all company procedures, rules, and safety regulations.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM
Skills:
Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Exceptional attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in data entry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
Experience using computer-based accounting software
Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years proven current experience in an accounting role such as Accounting Clerk, Bookkeeper, or AP/AR Specialist is required.
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is a plus.
