The ideal candidate is an expert in GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), possesses strong leadership skills to guide a growing team, and can seamlessly translate complex financial data into actionable insights for leadership.
Responsibilities:
Financial Operations: Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), general ledger, payroll, and cash flow management.
Month-End Close: Lead and optimize the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial statements.
Reconciliations & Reporting: Review and approve journal entries, bank reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts. Prepare monthly financial reporting packages for management.
Controls & Compliance: Establish, monitor, and enforce internal accounting controls, policies, and procedures to mitigate risk and protect company assets.
Audit & Tax Support: Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax professionals, managing the preparation of required schedules and documentation.
Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop a team of accounting staff (e.g., staff accountants, AP/AR clerks).
Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in current workflows and implement modern software integrations or process updates to streamline accounting operations.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Certifications: CPA or CMA designation is highly preferred (but not required).

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or management role.
Technical Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, data analysis) and experience with mid-to-enterprise level ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks Enterprise, Sage, or Microsoft Dynamics).
Knowledge Base: Deep understanding of US GAAP, financial statement preparation, and internal control frameworks.
Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, exceptional communication skills, and the capability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
