PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:1. Oversee the leadership of the accounting department in coordination with the Director of Finance.- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability within the department.- Promote professional development opportunities and training to enhance the team's skills and knowledge.- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.2. Accounting Operations- Supervise members of the accounting team in coordination with the Director of Finance.- Review and approve financial transactions, journal entries, and reconciliations to maintain accuracy and completeness of financial records.- Ensure adherence to accounting principles and standards, as well as internal policies and procedures.- Implement and maintain accounting systems and software to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.3. Financial Reporting and Analysis- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports for management, board of directors, and external stakeholders.- Prepare organization-wide budget for Company and affiliated entities.- Provide financial analysis and interpretation of key performance indicators to support decision-making processes.- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities based on financial data and present findings to senior management.- Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal grant requirements, and FQHC financial reporting standards.- Oversee the preparation of tax filings. LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:Provides overall management and direction to departmental staff. - Oversees the development and maintenance of the departmental budget; monitors ongoing budgetary compliance and addresses problems as needed.- Participates in high priority special projects and activities.- Represents the department at all assigned meetings. - Prepares departmental company policies and procedures and conveys all senior management communications and directives.- Monitors departmental performance using company performance standards and addresses issues as needed.- Prepares and conducts performance appraisals for immediate staff.- Conducts hiring, disciplinary, and termination procedures for assigned staff.- Provides excellent customer service and resolves concerns/complaints/issues in a timely professional manner.
1-4 years
- Healthcare experience of 2-3 years is preferred, leadership and FQHC experience would be a plus.
- Must know all aspects of accounting as it is performed in the organization, sufficient to effectively train or instruct others, and to serve as a resource to employees.- Possesses the equivalent of formal training in accounting, usually in the form of a major in Accounting or Finance as part of a Bachelor???s Degree program.- Word Processing Skills ??? Prepares more complex documents in Microsoft Word, including creating tables, charts, graphs and other elements.- Spreadsheet Skills ??? Uses advanced functions of Microsoft Excel, such as to create and manage databases, including creating standardized reports, or link multiple worksheets and workbooks.- Graphics/Presentation Skills ??? Creates basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.- Other Software Skills ??? Uses Accounting related software systems to manage accounting, accounts payable, purchasing, and payroll administration.- Organizational Skills ??? Displays more advanced organizational skills, in order to organize projects or the work of others.- Problem Solving Skills ??? Devises effective solutions to situations encountered which include not just the specific issues related to the function, but the general concerns of the organization.- Communication Skills ??? Able to effectively communicate opinions drawn from conclusions using inference and logic.- Critical Thinking Skills ??? Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.- Problem Resolution ??? Resolves conflicts that may arise because of disagreements between employees, between employees and customers/clients, or with the public, other legal entities or governmental authorities.
