- Salary: $100k - $125k (commensurate with experience)
- Schedule: Full-time, Mon-Fri (In-office hours between 8 AM - 6 PM)
What You’ll Do
...
As the Controller, you will be the engine behind the company's financial operations, working closely with the President to keep everything running smoothly.
- Manage the Full Cycle: Lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes, ensuring all invoices and payments are processed accurately.
- Maintain Financial Health: Handle general ledger maintenance, reconcile bank accounts, and manage the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Report & Analyze: Monitor accounting data to produce timely financial statements and reports that help guide business decisions.
- Compliance & Payroll: Assist with payroll tax reporting, tax filings, and prepare the necessary paperwork for audits.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in accounting roles, with a strong background in managing both AP and AR.
- Industry Knowledge: Hands-on experience within the construction industry is a must.
- Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Mindset: You are self-motivated, able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision, and have a sharp eye for error-free work.
- Problem Solver: You can identify financial issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
Bonus Points (Preferred)
- Software: Proficiency with Foundation Software, Ecosys, or similar construction-specific accounting tools.
- Specialized Accounting: Knowledge of job costing, Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting, retainage, and change orders.
- Union Reporting: Familiarity with Union contracting and local/state/federal compliance requirements.
