Spherion Staffing is partnering with a premier, family-owned manufacturer in a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility to hire a skilled Sheet Metal Fabrication Technician. This isn't just a temporary gig-it is a direct-hire role with a company on a mission to create life-changing jobs, foster a close-knit community, and support your long-term career growth.

Responsibilities:

• Part Fabrication: Shear, punch, press brake, and fabricate custom sheet metal parts for HVAC equipment casings following established quality standards.
• Blueprint Precision: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, dimensions, and strict tolerances to complete custom builds.
• Setup & Tooling: Safely set up machinery, tooling, and work stations for optimal efficiency.
• Quality & Measurement: Accurately measure work using angle gauges, tape measures, and vernier calipers; perform shop math (decimals/fractions) to ensure precise specifications.
• Operational Excellence: Log work activities, maintain equipment, keep a safe work space, and collaborate with team members and supervisors on process improvements.

Working hours: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Skills:

• High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.
• Shop courses or equivalent experience is helpful.
• Experience fabricating sheet metal parts using fabrication tools and equipment is desirable.

Experience:
1-4 years

Qualifications:

• One year work experience including use of small hand tools in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
• Good mechanical ability to read blueprints and drawings in order to fabricate parts.
• Knowledge of how to use mechanical tools, wrenches, levels, and light power tools properly and safely.
• Skill in accurately using measuring tools including angle gauges, tape measures, and vernier calipers.
• Able to perform mathematical calculations involving addition and subtraction of dimensions using decimals and/or fractions.
• Able to routinely lift 80 pounds
