Are you a finance professional who loves seeing the real-world impact of your spreadsheets? We are looking for a Financial Operations Manager to serve as the strategic backbone of our client’s Facilities Services Department.
This is a temp-to-hire role designed for someone who thrives on budgeting, forecasting, and data analysis. Don’t know the first thing about facility maintenance? No problem. If you bring the financial expertise, our client will teach you the operational side of the business.
How You’ll Make a Difference
You will be the "right hand" to the Executive Director, turning complex data into a clear roadmap for the department. You won’t just be crunching numbers; you’ll be ensuring that the resources for housing and campus infrastructure are managed with precision.
...
Financial Stewardship: Lead the development of budgets for Housing and Facilities and manage financial reporting for major construction projects.
Strategic Analysis: Identify trends, perform variance analysis, and prepare monthly performance updates for the Board of Trustees.
Systems Management: Oversee the software systems that keep the department running (we’ll train you on the specific tools!).
Collaboration: Act as a bridge between Field Operations and the Finance Department, ensuring everyone is aligned on long-term capital plans.
What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for a "numbers person" who is approachable and able to translate financial data for people who aren't in finance.
Your Background:
Education/Experience: You have a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business - OR - you have several years of solid experience in financial planning and budget management.
Excel Mastery: You are highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (you know your way around a VLOOKUP and a Pivot Table).
Analytical Mindset: You enjoy digging into the "why" behind the numbers to improve efficiency.
Bonus Points (Not Required):
Experience with Banner or TeamDynamix.
Previous experience working in a union environment.
A background in facilities or construction.
