Key Responsibilities1. Financial Accounting & ReportingMaintain the general ledger and perform all month-end and year-end closing activities.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Statement of Activities, Statement of Financial Position).Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR), ensuring timely payments and collections.Conduct monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.2. Grant & Fund AccountingTrack restricted and unrestricted funds to ensure compliance with donor intent.Prepare financial reports for private, state, and federal grants.Monitor grant spending against budgets to prevent over-expenditure or "orphaned" funds.3. Budgeting & Audit SupportAssist the Executive Director in developing the annual operating budget.Lead the preparation for the annual external audit and Form 990 tax filing.Maintain a robust system of internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.4. Payroll & ComplianceOversee payroll processing and ensure accurate allocation of labor costs across various programs/grants.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial reporting requirements.
