Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality Flux Core (FCAW) and TIG (GTAW) welds on carbon steel and code-quality materials according to project specs and drawings.
Weld structural elements, heads, shell seams, and fittings for propane storage tank manufacturing.
Prepare metal surfaces, standard joints, bevels, and execute proper fit-up prior to welding.
Conduct visual inspections of finished welds to ensure zero defects, proper penetration, and compliance with pressure vessel manufacturing standards.
Operate overhead cranes, grinders, torch cutters, and standard fabrication shop tools safely.
Working hours: 5:45 AM - 3:15 PM
Skills:
Preferred Qualifications
Experience welding pressure vessels, tanks, or high-pressure piping under ASME Section VIII or similar code standards.
Current or previous weld certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME 6G/3G/4G).
Background in heavy structural steel fabrication or tank manufacturing.
Familiarity with non-destructive testing (NDT) processes such as Radiographic (RT), Magnetic Particle (MT), or Dye Penetrant (PT) testing.

Experience: 2+ years of proven hands-on experience in Flux Core (FCAW) and TIG (GTAW) welding.
Blueprints: Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, weld symbols, and technical blueprints.
Testing: Must be able to pass a pre-employment practical weld test (FCAW & TIG).
Physical Effort: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, work in varied shop conditions, stand for extended periods, and work inside/around large vessel structures.
Safety Mindset: Strict adherence to shop safety guidelines, PPE requirements, and OSHA standard operating procedures.
