The Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) Technician is essential for upholding the highest levels of food safety, quality, and regulatory compliance at a high-tech indoor growing facility in Byron, GA. This role involves rigorous monitoring, testing, and documentation throughout all production phases. The ideal candidate must be available for a rotating shift schedule that includes days, afternoons, and weekends, and must be comfortable working continuously in a cold and/or wet, greenhouse-style environment.

Must be available to work ALL of the following shifts: 5am - 1:30pm, 2pm - 10:30pm, rotate weekends
Responsibilities:
- Conduct pre-operational activities such as visual inspections and ATP swabbing of contact surfaces
- Ensure food safety protocols and GMP policies are enforced throughout the facility
- Perform and document product testing, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards
- Assist in food safety and GMP audits by preparing and verifying records
- Inspect incoming raw materials and finished goods for compliance with quality standards
- Regularly monitor and calibrate testing instruments and equipment
- Record and analyze data related to product quality, including CCPs, SOPs, and SSOPs
- Follow company policies and procedures to maintain operational and quality standards
Working hours: Various Shifts Available
Skills:
- Associate's degree or certifification in Food Science, Biology, or a related field preferred
- Familiarity with HACCP principles or PCQI certification preferred (training provided if necessary)
- Bilingual skills (English and Spanish) are a plus
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a food production, manufacturing, or similar regulated environment
- Strong understanding of food safety standards and quality control processes
- Familiarity with food safety standards such as GMP, HACCP, SQF, and GFSI
- Experience conducting quality inspectations audits, and testing procedures for food safety and quality control.
- Ability to use standard lab equipment and instruments for quality testing.
- Proficient in data entry, record keeping, and report generation
