Responsibilities:
Design and Development:
Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software to develop, model, and detail high-performance mechanical and structural components (e.g., suspension, chassis, powertrain elements, and aerodynamic parts).
Conduct rigorous Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other engineering simulations (e.g., thermal, structural, fluid dynamics) to validate designs for performance, safety, and reliability.
Testing and Validation:
Develop and execute test plans for prototypes and vehicle systems both in the shop and trackside, analyzing results to inform design iterations.
Collaborate with data and race engineers to analyze telemetry data and driver feedback, translating observations into actionable engineering improvements.
Production and Support:
Create detailed manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM) for component production.
Provide technical support to fabrication, assembly, and race teams to ensure components are built, installed, and maintained to precise standards.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure all designs and modifications adhere to the relevant sanctioning body's technical regulations and safety standards.
Maintain detailed technical documentation, engineering change requests, and project reports.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Skills:
Minimum of 2+ years of professional experience in motorsport, high-performance automotive, or aerospace design.
Proficiency with data acquisition systems and analysis tools (e.g., MoTeC, Pi, MATLAB, Python).
Familiarity with the specific technical regulations and race series prevalent in the Indianapolis area.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
Technical Proficiency:
Proven proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or similar).
Strong foundational knowledge of Vehicle Dynamics, Materials Science, and Mechanics of Materials.
Experience performing engineering analysis using FEA software.
Soft Skills:
Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions under extreme pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective collaboration with cross-functional teams (e.g., drivers, mechanics, fellow engineers).
