- Processing: Manage payroll system for timely/accurate processing (salaries, hours, leave, overtime).- Compliance & Controls: Enforce internal controls (reviews, audits, reconciliations); ensure compliance with federal/state laws (DOL, IRS, FRS, college rules) regarding wages, taxes, garnishments, deductions, and retirement.- Expert Guidance: Serve as payroll system SME, providing support and training to employees, supervisors, and direct reports.- Reporting: Prepare and submit all required payroll reports (tax, workers? comp, benefits).- Systems: Collaborate on payroll system configuration, upgrades, and improvements.- Customer Service: Resolve complex/sensitive payroll inquiries with confidentiality and high-level service.- Serve as the liaison with Finance, IT and designated external partners for matters related to payroll.- Reports To: Director, HR Operations

- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related field + 4 years of professional experience (or 8 years of combined relevant education/experience).- Working knowledge of: GAAP, fund accounting, GASB, payroll processes, tax/employment regulations, retirement plans, and unemployment reporting.- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and relevant position software programs.Preferred Qualifications- FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) or CPP (Certified Payroll Professional).
