Are you a hands-on builder with a passion for bringing new designs to life? We are seeking a skilled Prototype Assembly Operator to join a production team in Duluth, MN. In this role, you will bridge the gap between engineering concepts and real-world manufacturing, helping to build, test, and refine the next generation of high-quality magnetic components.
What You’ll Do
You will spend half of your time supporting core production and the other half working directly with engineering on new innovations.
...
- Build the Future: Use sketches, CAD drawings, and verbal instructions to assemble complex prototype units from the ground up
- Production Support: Assemble and test standard production products to ensure we meet our delivery goals.
- Testing & Validation: Perform hands-on testing and collect critical data on prototypes and pre-production units.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineers to design the tools and documentation that will eventually be used on the manufacturing floor.
- Smooth Transitions: Act as a technical liaison to help move parts from the "New Product Introduction" (NPI) phase into full-scale production.
What We're Looking For
We need a detail-oriented technician who can handle semi-routine tasks while knowing exactly when to stop and alert a supervisor if a quality issue arises.
- Manufacturing Experience: At least 4–6 years of experience working in a professional manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Deep experience with magnetic component assembly, specifically hand soldering, winding, and wire stripping.
- Precision & Accuracy: Familiarity with lead termination and general best practices for magnetics assembly
- Adaptability: The ability to work from minimal documentation and adjust to occasional deviations from standard practices.
Bonus Points (Preferred)
- Visual Literacy: A strong ability to interpret 3D CAD drawings or complex technical diagrams.
- Problem-Solving: Experience identifying quality risks before they impact the final product delivery.
- Technical Writing: Ability to assist in drafting clear, concise manufacturing documentation.
If you have the technical "know-how" and a drive for precision, we want to hear from you. Apply today to take the next step in your manufacturing career!
