This position will provide direct support to the subrogation staff with research for accident, illness and responsible party information, and creation of subrogation files. The Subrogation Specialist will place telephone calls to attorneys, insureds, and insurance carriers to verify information related to pending cases. This position will be responsible for reviewing the claims system for processing of accident related claims and will provide customer service to internal and external customers regarding the subrogation process.Responsibilities:- Researches and creates paper and electronic subrogation files for the department.- Places and receives telephone calls to attorneys, insureds, and insurance carriers to obtain third party liability or case status information.- Files documents and retrievals, organizes and distributes incoming mail.- Reviews claims system for approval or denial of coverage for claims related to accident and illness.- Conducts projects and participates in department activities to identify problems and improve processes.- Performs other duties as assigned.Working hours: 7:30 AM - 5:15 PM (Various Shifts Available)Skills:PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
