The Registered Dietitian & Diabetic Educator plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by providing specialized nutritional care to patients with diabetes and other dietary needs. This is a full-time, direct-hire, days position with compensation from $30-38/hr, depending on experience as well as full benefits. The Registered Dietitian & Diabetic Educator plays a crucial role in the healthcare team by providing specialized nutritional care to patients with diabetes and other dietary needs. This position involves assessing patients' nutritional status, developing individualized meal plans, and educating patients and their families about managing dietary restrictions and diabetes. The ultimate goal is to improve patient outcomes through effective nutrition management and education, ensuring that patients understand how to make informed dietary choices. Additionally, the dietitian will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to integrate dietary plans into overall patient care. This role is vital in promoting health and wellness and contributing to the overall recovery and quality of life for patients.
Skills:
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) EPIC.
- Experience in a hospital or healthcare facility as a dietitian.
- Experience with outpatient and inpatient clinical settings.
- Experience with providing dietitian services for bariatric, long-term care, swing bed, acute, oncology, and cardio-pulmonary patients.
- Additional certifications in specialized areas of nutrition or diabetes management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
- Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) credential.
- Current certification in diabetes education or able to obtain within 12 months (e.g., CDCES).
- Recent graduates with completed internship and taking boards within 6 months encouraged to apply.
