Spherion WI & Northern IL is expanding our Skilled Trades practice to help regional manufacturers solve critical hiring shortages. As a Skilled Trades Recruiter, you will manage a "full desk"-proactively sourcing top talent while simultaneously building relationships with local industrial employers.
We welcome candidates from recruiting, B2B sales, manufacturing, or workforce development backgrounds. Prior industry experience is helpful but not required; we provide comprehensive training for driven, coachable, and curious professionals. This is a local, relationship-driven role requiring regular office presence and client site visits.

What you'll do:
- Conduct outbound sales and networking to build relationships with manufacturing leaders.
- Source and pipeline skilled trades talent via job boards, social media, and community outreach.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on workforce planning, pay trends, and hiring.
- Manage the full hiring lifecycle: interview coordination, offers, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate records within internal systems and contribute to team goals.
What we're looking for:
- Open to backgrounds in sales, recruiting, customer service, or manufacturing.
- Strong communication, relationship-building, and organization skills.
- Curiosity about technical roles and how businesses operate.
- Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and US work authorization.
- Plus: Prior staffing or skilled trades experience (CNC, welding, maintenance).
Helpful, but not required:
- Prior staffing industry or technical/skilled trades recruiting experience.
- Familiarity with industrial roles (e.g., CNC machinists, welders, maintenance technicians).
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $55,000 - $75,000/year base + performance-based incentive program.
