Our client is a financial and tax firm in the Madison area who is adding a new member to their team. What makes their firm unique is their integrated approach to financial and investment planning, integrating income tax planning and preparation.
They are interested in qualified candidates who may choose to work full or part-time during the off season, but who are committed to working full-time during tax season.
Tax Preparation and Compliance:
- Preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for individuals, corporations partnerships, and other entities.
- Researching tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
- Managing tax provisions, compliance processes, and coordinating tax audits.
- Identifying potential tax-saving opportunities and providing tax planning advice to clients.
Accounting and Financial Reporting:
- Provide guidance and support to clients on various accounting and bookkeeping matters, explaining complex concepts clearly and concisely.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) for clients, providing insights and recommendations.
- Ensure all client accounting and bookkeeping practices comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements.
- Developing and implementing accounting policies and procedures to ensure efficient and accurate financial processes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or looking to obtain within 12 months
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public accounting, with a focus on tax preparation and review and demonstrating growth in responsibility and skill development.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, IRS regulations, and relevant tax laws.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with tax and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Write-Up
