Press Setup & Operation: Review job orders/tickets to determine quantities, stock specifications (paper/label rolls), color requirements, and special printing, perforating, or punching instructions.Load presses and adjust ink fountain flow rates. Quality Control: Start press runs, pull initial proofs, and constantly monitor production for proper ink coverage, density, alignment, and precise color registration. Make micro-adjustments on the fly to eliminate misprints. Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform routine and minor maintenance on printing equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical or print-quality issues as they arise to minimize downtime. Material Management: Mix and match custom inks, manage paper rolls or board stock, and ensure the correct chemistry is maintained throughout the run. Safety & Compliance: Establish and maintain a safe working environment by strictly adhering to company safety hazards, OSHA guidelines, and machine-guarding protocols. Team Collaboration: Coordinate with pre-press technicians, bindery workers, and supervisors to meet strict delivery deadlines and support continuous process improvement.
