Job Description:
As a Welder, use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products.
Responsibilities:
- Plan jobs by reviewing work orders and gathering the correct tools and materials.
- Fabricate items using various welding, cutting, and burning techniques.
- Safely operate equipment, including overhead cranes, to handle materials.
- Monitor the process to ensure high-quality work without damaging parts.
- Report any issues with equipment or materials to a supervisor.
Education: High School
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: 6 months
Physical:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Skills:
- Welders understanding of welding machines and tools including design, uses, maintenance and repair
- Understanding of metallurgy
- Ability to weld components that are vertical, flat or overhead
- Ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding
