Job Description:
As a Welder, use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Welders understand the welding machines including design, uses, maintenance and repair.
Responsibilities:
- Plan fabrication jobs by interpreting work orders and staging required materials
- Fabricate components according to specifications using welding, cutting, and burning
- Efficiently operate material handling equipment, such as overhead cranes, while adhering to safety protocols
- Conduct ongoing quality checks to ensure high standards are met
- Promptly communicate equipment and material issues to supervision
- Contribute to general production tasks as needed
Education: High School
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
Experience: 6 months
Physical:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
Skills:
- Welders understanding of welding machines and tools including design, uses, maintenance and repair
- Understanding of metallurgy
- Ability to weld components that are vertical, flat or overhead
- Ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
- Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding
