Spherion is hiring for a Welder in Donora. The starting pay for the Welder position is based on experience, but starts at no less than $19/hour. The Welder position is a temp-to-hire position.

Job Description:

As a Welder, use hand-welding, flame-cutting, hand-soldering, or brazing equipment to weld or join metal components or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. Welders understand the welding machines including design, uses, maintenance and repair.

Responsibilities:

• Planning fabrication jobs by interpreting work orders and staging required materials
• Fabricating components according to specifications using welding, cutting, and burning
• Efficiently operating material handling equipment such as overhead cranes
• Adhering to safety protocols within the facility
• Conducting quality checks to ensure standards are met
• Communicating and issues to management
• Assisting with production as needed

Education: High School

• High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience: 6 months

Physical:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time

Skills:

• Welders understanding of welding machines and tools including design, uses, maintenance and repair
• Understanding of metallurgy
• Ability to weld components that are vertical, flat or overhead
• Ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms
• Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding
