Empathetic Communication: Insurance is often sold during stressful life changes (buying a home, having a child, or after an accident). The ability to translate "legalese" into plain English with empathy is what wins long-term clients.
Analytical Risk Assessment: Instead of just "quoting a price," preferred agents act as advisors. You should be able to look at a client's assets and identify where they are under-insured
Active Listening: This is the #1 sales skill. By listening more than talking, you discover "cross-sell" opportunities, like a client mentioning they just bought a boat or started a home-based business.
