The Assistant Executive Director will be a highly dynamic and experienced senior manager, supporting the Executive Director in driving the nonprofit's mission. Responsibilities:
Oversee the planning, organizing, and directing of all nonprofit's fundraising activities, including major gifts, annual fund, planned giving, special events, and capital campaigns, in coordination with the Executive Director (ED).
Meet prospective donors and supporters on a continual basis to establish effective communications and grow the major gifts program through identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
Research, write, and manage grant applications.
Build and maintain essential relationships throughout the community by meeting with stakeholders to leverage partnerships and help accomplish growth and development objectives.
Make public appearances and accept speaking engagements to promote the nonprofit.
Oversee the creation of publications to support fundraising activities.
Staff the front desk and work directly with guests during open hours, acting as a mentor.
Lead and execute the behavior program including writing up guests as necessary, consulting with team members, and helping guests understand appropriate behavior.
Record guest write-ups and notify guardians as necessary.
Collaborate closely with the executive team in the development of goals and long-term plans to maximize growth, uphold integrity, and maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
In the absence or at the delegation of the ED, direct the work of the entire nonprofit team.
Assist with strategy, planning, and implementation of key initiatives.

Skills:
Masterful organizational, communication, and leadership skills, demonstrated by previous professional success.
Experience with budget and business plan development.
Superior negotiation skills in both internal and external settings.
Proven success in educational or childcare environments.
Strong working knowledge of data analysis and performance metrics using business management software.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
3+ years of senior management experience in business administration, education, development, or a related field.
Strong grant writing or fundraising experience.
Proven ability to work with and motivate staff, board members, and volunteers.
Ability to work directly with guests in a supportive capacity.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Sincere desire to further the nonprofit's mission, relentless work ethic, and compassion.
Self-starter and goal-driven, especially for initiating donor visits and fundraising calls.
Highly organized with strong follow-through on tasks and goals.
Positive attitude, demonstrating presence, self-confidence, common sense, and good listening.
