Looking for an experienced Controller with construction industry experience to join a private growth-oriented company who shares its philosophy of running a business with a primary focus on the safety and welfare of our employees.
- Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures for all construction projects

- Prepare and analyze financial reports for each project, including budget vs actual analysis and cash flow projections
- Ensure compliance with all accounting standards and regulations, including GAAP and IFRS
- Coordinate with project managers to review project budgets and ensure cost control measures are in place
- Monitor project expenses and report any variances to senior management
- Work closely with the project team to identify and manage project risks
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including banks and other financial institutions
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the company's financial operations and reporting
- Manage the accounting team and ensure accurate and timely completion of financial transactions
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
- Conduct financial forecasting and budgeting to support strategic planning
- Coordinate the annual audit process and ensure compliance with GAAP requirements
- Manage the payroll process, including payroll tax filings and reporting
- Oversee accounts payable function, ensuring timely payment of invoices and accurate recording of expenses
- Perform account reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies
- Stay updated on financial concepts, regulations, and best practices in order to provide guidance to management
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
- Excellent knowledge of financial concepts and principles
- Proficiency in financial report writing and analysis
- Ability to perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Experience with general ledger reconciliation
- Understanding of governmental accounting standards and tax filings
Education:
Masters
Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
- Mater's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction accounting and financial management
- Proven knowledge of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards
- Experience with project management and cost control
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
