Spherion is currently recruiting for a skilled and safety-conscious Die Cast Machine Operator. In this role, you will assist with the setup and operation of Techmire and Burnisher machines to ensure the efficient, safe production of high-quality zinc parts.

Responsibilities:
- Machine Operation: Operate Techmire machines (manually or automatically) to produce the required number of quality parts for each production order.
- Setup Assistance: Assist with the setup of Techmire machines and automatic extractors to ensure proper functioning. This includes cleaning machines, inspecting and mounting new dies correctly, making necessary hookups/settings, and running the first shot with required adjustments.
- Pre-Staging: Assist in pre-setting and pre-staging tooling and gaging so they are ready for delivery to the machine prior to setup.
- Quality Control: Routinely check the quality of parts during the production run and obtain approval from the Lead before starting full production.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, up-to-date production records.
- Cross-Training: Understand and operate other Techmire machines and support equipment within the department as production demands or during machine breakdowns.
- General Support: Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
Working hours: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Skills:
- Previous experience in manufacturing
- Quality Inspection: Ability to carefully inspect parts coming off the Techmire machines to ensure strict quality standards are met.
- Attention to Detail: High level of situational awareness, as errors in judgment can result in significant costs in time and materials.
- Tool Fluency: Skill in working with common hand tools.

High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong mechanical aptitude necessary for setting up and operating die-casting machines, trimmers, pots, and support equipment.
- Experience: On-the-job training will be provided to learn the specific setups, adjustments, and operating requirements of the various die-casting machines and trimmers.
Physical Demands
- Lifting: Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds continuously (67-100% of the shift).
- Coordination: Strong hand-eye coordination is necessary for safe and efficient operation.
