The Fiscal Assistant role centers on specialized accounting tasks on the Construction team. This individual ensures that accounting practices comply with relevant laws and regulations. This is a 3 month assignement with a possible brief extension
Responsibilities:
- Performs a variety of accounting functions, which includes preparing, reviewing and approving documents; reconciling accounts; preparing accounting schedules; coding and entering data and monitoring fund balances
- Entering requisitions, purchase orders and invoices
- Maintains or monitors one or more phases of an accounting system and internal control procedures
- Ensure all practices comply with local, state, and federal laws.
- Support staff, administrators, and other applicable parties.
- Monitor construction project financial activities.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
- This position must be proficient in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work and maintain effective working relationships with others; to understand, interpret, and apply applicable rules, regulations, and policies; to effectively communicate in writing and orally; to complete work according to scheduled deadlines; to work with limited supervision; to utilize problem solving techniques and to work independently
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and three years of general accounts transaction experience
- Appropriate college course work or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for required experience
