The Office Assistant supports the daily administrative operations of the medical office by providing clerical, customer service, and operational assistance. This position works closely with faculty, providers, laboratory personnel, referring physician offices, and patients to ensure efficient workflow, timely communication, and excellent customer service. The Office Assistant helps maintain accurate records, manage incoming communications, and support departmental functions that contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:
- Assist with in hour lab processing
- Ensure cases with additional testing are completed and given to the appropriate pathologist to review
- Triage incoming materials received from the UF courier and FedEx
- Monitor and distribute incoming emails, faxes, and mail.
- Maintain organized electronic and paper filing systems.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Skills:
- Experience in a medical office, dermatology, pathology, or academic healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical record systems.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience working with referrals, medical records, or provider communications.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of clerical, administrative, customer service, or healthcare office experience.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
