The Office Secretary provides administrative support for the daily operations of a medical office. This position serves as a liaison between referring providers, clinic staff, patients, pathologists, faculty physicians, laboratories, and clinical departments. Responsibilities:
Administrative Support:
- Answer, screen, and route incoming telephone calls professionally and efficiently.
- Provide front-line customer service to referring providers, clinical staff, and laboratory personnel.
Pathology Report and Referral Coordination:
- Receive, process, and distribute dermatopathology reports to referring providers.
- Monitor pathology report workflows and assist with follow-up communications regarding pending or corrected reports.
- Coordinate receipt and tracking of outside pathology materials, slides, and consultation requests.
- Assist providers and staff with obtaining pathology records, reports, and supporting documentation.
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Skills:
- Experience in dermatology, pathology, dermatopathology, or a healthcare setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Experience working with electronic medical records (Epic preferred).
- Experience handling referrals, pathology reports, or medical records.
Education:
High School
Experience:
1-4 years
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year of administrative, clerical, or medical office experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams).
