      Assist senior buyers in the procurement of goods and services in the most efficient and effective means considering cost, delivery, quality and service of the goods available. Other responsibilities include tasks related to purchasing such as electronic filing, data entry, emailing, etc. This position is anticipated to be up to 6 months in duration, and need for continued support will be evaluated.Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies, procedures and Uniform Commercial Code.Assist in location, qualification and development of appropriate sources of goods and services.Assist in the solicitation and evaluation of bid requests from appropriate suppliers and manufacturers to determine the ranking of vendors to purchase from.Assist in the negotiation with vendors for optimal results of cost, delivery, quality and service.Assist in the measurement of vendor performance in terms of cost, delivery, quality and service.Process purchase orders through the business system.Follow-up and expedite timely receipt of back-ordered items.Follow-up and expedite timely receipt of items for pick date requirement.Coordinate inbound freight means to meet delivery and cost requirements.Assist in the verification and resolution of discrepancies on purchase order versus invoices.Coordinate the return of faulty and/or incorrect goods, and negotiate credit for rework labor incurred by Brown.Perform all clerical functions related to Purchasing.Process and coordinate flow of Purchasing documentation and other communication within Manufacturing and to other departmentsParticipate in the resolution of disbursement error and inventory discrepancies.Attend and participate in scheduled meetings.Inform manager of situations or conditions which would cause to miss scheduled deliveries, quality or cost objectives after taking all actions required within their own area of responsibility and control.Assist in the responsibility for their assigned purchased goods inventory consistent with management???s financial policy, shipment and customer service objectives.Assist in the responsibility for recommendation, use and disposition of excess and inactive assigned purchased goods inventory.Assist with Raw Material procurement as needed.Perform other related duties as may be required.Working hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PMSkills:General computer skillsOral and Written Communication skillsInterpersonal skillsEducation:AssociateExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:High School Diploma Required2-year Business or Technical Degree is preferred1-2 years??? experience in Purchasing is preferred Great opportunity in Beaverton MichiganSpherion has helped thousands of people just like you find work happiness!
