The Network Administrator – is responsible for managing and maintaining an organization's computer networks and on-site IT infrastructure. This includes configuring and supporting servers, firewalls, and network hardware; ensuring cybersecurity; troubleshooting issues; and working with internal teams or external IT providers to keep systems secure, efficient, and aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
IT Infrastructure & Operations:
- Maintain Windows Server OS (2016–2022) and core IT systems.
- Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Windows Server roles.
- Oversee on-site hardware (servers, workstations, printers, etc.).
- Provide support for Timberline Sage, Vista Viewpoint, and other critical apps.
- Administer SonicWall and WatchGuard firewalls, ensuring proper setup and security.
- Lead IT projects: system upgrades, cloud integrations, and office expansions.
User Support & MSP Coordination:
- Act as the on-site escalation point for technical issues.
- Collaborate with the MSP to ensure system performance, security, and ticket resolution.
- Train users and communicate technical information clearly to all levels.
- Support device configurations across Windows 11, macOS (12–15), Android/iOS.
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
- Align on-site security measures with MSP standards.
- Monitor threats, manage firewall/VPN settings, and oversee backup and recovery.
Strategy & Innovation:
- Assist with IT planning, budgeting, and asset management.
- Recommend and implement improvements to enhance scalability and security.
- Stay informed on IT trends and emerging technologies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years in IT management, ideally in a multi-site or fast-growing environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Experience managing MSP relationships.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, PowerShell, VMware/Hyper-V.
- Hands-on experience with Timberline Sage, Vista Viewpoint, SonicWall, and WatchGuard.
- Familiar with cloud services (Azure, AWS, O365) and modern endpoint devices.
Preferred Skills but not required – Nice to have:
- Construction industry knowledge
- Relevant certifications (Microsoft, CompTIA, CCNA, SonicWall/WatchGuard) a plus.
