Responsibilities:
- Execute core payroll-related functions, accounts payable, benefits payments, and employee reimbursements.
- Prepare and process journal entries, account reconciliations, and quarterly/annual filings.
- Manage reconciliations for 401k, workers' compensation, MN Paid Family Medical Leave (MN PFML), and SUTA.
- Collaborate closely with HR on employee benefits administration and address employee payroll inquiries.
- Support internal/external audits and assist with payroll software implementations and process improvements.
Qualifications:
- Education/Experience: 2- or 4-year degree OR an equivalent combination of work and training experience.
- Accuracy: Proven ability to handle sensitive, confidential data with strict precision and attention to detail.
- Core Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, ability to prioritize under tight deadlines, and comfortable in an evolving work environment.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills for building relationships with staff and leadership.
Bonus Points:
- 5+ years of dedicated full-cycle payroll experience.
- Experience with complex payroll (e.g., shift differentials, blended overtime rates).
- Hands-on experience with Dynamics, Greenshades, or payroll software implementations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
