This is a FULL-TIME, DIRECT HIRE position with some flexibility in regards to remote work. Starting compensation is $65-75K/year+ based on experience. Primary responsibilities of the job include working in a cross functional team to develop products (one-offs to entire system design lines) from concept to manufacturing; developing CAD models and drawing prints that advance studio concepts, communicate design intent, and work through technical feasibility via prototyping to a production ready state.Responsibilities:Interrupt design intent requirements from Product Management and translate into conceptual iterative CAD models.Prototype and iterate quickly on creative ideas that drive minimal viable solutions.Work closely with Industrial Design team to align end user requirements and esthetic/ergonomic desires.Support cost objectives and manufacturability early in the process.Provide CAD models and cost estimates to engineering for the development of manufacturing plans.Provide Marketing team with design intent models.Co-develop new testing methods as needed.Travel to customers and conduct product and/or market research.Strive to obtain departmental goals that drive continuous performance improvement.Keep up-to-date on competitive product offerings in an effort to understand market requirements and opportunities.Create, complete, and submit appropriate reports, forms and other paperwork.Work in an extremely safe manner, following all safety rules and regulations.Develop teamwork by establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with all employees and business contacts.Exhibit respect and truthfulness in every interaction, while doing what we say we'll do.Work with enthusiasm, remain optimistic, and seek innovative solutions to problems.Work with focus, discipline and a sense of urgency to accomplish personal, professional and company goals.Demonstrate an intolerance for complacency and fearlessly pursue new opportunities and innovations.Understand, embrace and adhere to the principles of continuous improvement.Maintain an acceptable attendance record.Perform other duties as assigned.Skills:Bachelor degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Architecture or equivalent experience.CAD Rendering: 360, Lumion, Keyshot.Modeling: Foam core model, 3D printing, silicone cast molding, woodworking, weld, painting, etc.Electronics: PCB board design, soldering, wiring, battery, UL compliance, actuators, programming.Conceptual Ideation: hand sketch, digital sketching, and rendering skills.End user research.Qualifications:At least three (3) years of experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) modeling in SolidWorks, Onshape, Revit.Knowledge and experience in modular design, furniture industry, cabinetry, seating, woodworking and/or metal fabrication.Broad knowledge and experience of materials.Broad knowledge and experience with manufacturing processes.Mechanical aptitude to design assemblies, joints and mechanisms.Excellent problem solving abilities and demonstrated creativity.Experience to quickly understand practical design limits and ability to perform basic calculation of statics, dynamics, stress / strain if necessary to ensure functionality of product design.Ability to work independently.Good written and verbal presentation skills.Practical experience in using Excel, Word, Outlook, and other such software applications, as well as familiarity with or the ability to lea
