The prospect of business ownership is exciting and becomes even more real when you move further along in the franchise onboarding process. As you get closer to making a decision, the franchisor will typically host you for a Discovery Day. This is the last step in the process, and it is critical for the franchisor and the candidate, because this is what final decisions are based on for both parties.

During Spherion’s Discovery Day, you’ll meet the Spherion leadership team. We’ll share an overview of the staffing industry and talk more about operations and other elements of the support you receive as a franchisee. Throughout the day, you will have the chance to ask more questions and get in-depth answers about owning and operating a Spherion franchise. The goal is to ensure you feel welcomed into the Spherion family, and that you feel confident about your decision to franchise with us. Below, we’ve expanded on some of the main virtues of Discovery Day.

Meet the Spherion Team

Since we’ll be working closely together in the ramp-up to your opening and beyond, it is vital to get a feel for the team you will be working with. We want to be sure the chemistry is positive and mutual! Potential candidates are important to our team, so we gather everyone you’ll work with to introduce themselves, explain how we’ll support you at your new location, and share why we love working at Spherion. In an effort to get to know you well, we’ll ask you to prepare a short presentation about your personal and professional background, your career goals, and why you’re considering franchising with Spherion.

Review Key Business Areas

Through group and individual presentations, we will teach you more about the business processes involved in successfully operating a Spherion staffing location. Here are some of the key aspects that we cover throughout the day:

  • Sales
  • Operations
  • Marketing
  • Office Set-up
  • Risk and Safety
  • Business Services

Question & Answer

There will be plenty of opportunities to have in-depth conversations and answers to your lingering questions about franchising with us. Any question is a good question, so don’t be afraid to ask! We recognize that franchising is a big decision, and we want to make sure you feel confident in your choice. As you meet with various department heads, you will have the opportunity to ask more specific questions about each aspect of operations.

You may be wondering what you should ask. No worries! Here are some of the commonly asked questions from prospective franchisees:

  • How will Spherion support me during the first year and beyond?
  • What kind of help will I have in securing an office location?
  • How will I learn and manage all the technology that goes into running a Spherion location?
  • I’m not a salesperson. How do I learn to sell staffing and recruiting services, and/or assemble a successful sales team?

While you will need to attend a Discovery Day to get the answers to these questions, know that our team is committed to helping everyone through these important queries, processes, and more.

Discovery Day is an exciting and integral part of any franchise onboarding process. You will be able to get a real feeling of what it is like to be a part of the Spherion family. Then, after Discovery Day, you can plan any necessary follow-up calls to review business plans and answer any remaining questions you have. From there, you’ll take the most important step and decide if Spherion is the right business home for you. If it is, you’ll execute the franchise agreement and begin the formal onboarding process. Then the real fun begins!

Curious how else you can prepare for Discovery Day? Don’t hesitate to ask your franchise liaison what you should know ahead of time. They’re happy to help you prepare to have the most productive Discovery Day.
