With limited supervision, the Warehouse Worker is responsible for operating a fork lift with the purpose of accurate storing, shipping, and receiving of product accurately in a (unionized/non-unionized) public freezer warehouse. Responsibilities:
SHIPPING/RECEIVING: Unload and load freight in an efficient, accurate and safe manner. Identify, by lot number or other necessary means of identification, on each pallet of product.
STORING: Move product to storage areas with proper equipment and efficiently stage the merchandise for storage in the appropriate area. Place palletized product in storage racks in freezer and record or communicate location to the Shipping Receiving Clerk in the office.
ORDER PICKING: Pick orders for shipment and assemble various types of merchandise to be shipped. Accurately mark product with appropriate identification and codes as required per customer requirements. Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Make certain product comes from the proper locations and the lot numbers agree according to the picking documents. Perform picking duties in an efficient and safe manner.
QUALITY: Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage.
EQUIPMENT: Operate any materials handling equipment safely and efficiently as required. Use radio frequency equipment for picking, receiving and storing functions, as required. Change fork lift batteries as needed.
SAFETY, SANITATION, SECURITY: Maintain an orderly, clean, and neat work area. Operate material handling equipment in a safe manner. Assist in maintaining the security of the warehouse. Comply with OSHA and MSDS standards.
OTHER DUTIES: Charge fork lift batteries as needed; participate in physical inventories; perform labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking as needed; repair pallets when necessary; clean railcars, trailers, truck bays, and warehouse as requested; cut grass, rake leaves, and remove snow as seasonally required. Perform other, related duties as necessary.
SKILLS: The Warehouse Worker must be able to read a work order, add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure and the ability to read and compute rate, ratio, and percentages., count accurately, do simple math, and write legibly. The ability to operate a fork-lift and its attachments is an important skill. Following policies and procedure is vital to the success of each employee. Familiarity with materials handling and radio frequency equipment is beneficial.

Must be capable of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time IN A COLD ENVIRONMENT.
Working Conditions: Clean working environment and the building is well lit. Some moderate to heavy lifting (weights can exceed 60 pounds), and can require overhead work. Some pushing, pulling, bending, & stooping. The building temperatures are below freezing. The job functions require prolonged standing. Accurate depth perception is needed while placing pallets in the freezer racking.
