What You'll Do
As a CNC Machinist, you will be the hands-on expert responsible for creating the heavy-duty components that keep the world moving. Your day-to-day will involve:
- Setup & Operation: Setting up and running CNC and manual mills and lathes, including large milling centers.
- Precision Crafting: Interpreting blueprints and technical drawings to ensure every part meets exact specifications.
- Programming: Editing machine programs and entering G & M codes to optimize the machining process.
- Quality Control: Using tools like calipers, bore gages, and micrometers to verify that finished work is perfect.
- Collaboration: Working closely with engineering and fabrication teams to solve problems and improve production efficiency.
- Maintenance: Keeping your workspace clean and performing basic machine maintenance to ensure everything runs smoothly.
What We're Looking For
- Education: A 2-year technical degree or Associate???s degree in a relevant field.
- Technical Skills: Deep experience with CNC setup, shop math, and G & M codes.
- Material Knowledge: Experience working with high-strength steels and alloys.
- Detail-Oriented: The ability to perform close-tolerance work and catch minor malfunctions before they become big issues.
- Attitude: A proactive, self-motivated worker who takes accountability for their results.
Bonus Points (Preferred)
- Previous experience or knowledge of 5-axis machining.
