Spherion is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Communications Program Coordinator to support the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) through a long-term, full-time contract assignment. This fully remote position is open to Wisconsin residents only and plays a pivotal role in managing internal and external communications for the Bureau of Benefit Policy (BBP) within the Division of Medicaid Services.

The selected candidate will contribute to public health efforts across the state by supporting both general communications for the Bureau and targeted communications for the Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) benefit program.
Responsibilities:
BBP Communications (50%)
- Manage and submit directives and updates for ForwardHealth
- Update and revise ForwardHealth Handbook topics and related publications
- Create, edit, and review brochures, memos, and other communication materials
- Ensure consistency with DHS branding, tone, and accessibility standards
- Track Controlled Correspondences (CCTs) and support communication strategies for new initiatives
- Collaborate with DHS Communications, DMS staff, and external vendors (e.g., Gainwell)
- Maintain DHS/BBP websites and internal SharePoint content
- Escalate and coordinate communications through the BBP governance process
NEMT Program Communications (50%)
- Manage the NEMT programs general email inbox and stakeholder inquiries
- Update and maintain the NEMT webpage with timely, accurate information
- Post and distribute quarterly NEMT performance data and summaries
-Develop internal documents such as briefings and year-in-review reports
-Coordinate with DHS Communications to ensure consistent public messaging
- Transportation Advisory Committee (TAC) Coordination
- Schedule and organize quarterly TAC meetings
- Draft agendas and prepare meeting materials with BBP leadership and the NEMT broker
- Post official meeting notices in Legistar
- Send pre- and post-meeting communications, including recordings and stakeholder surveys
Working hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Health, Public Policy, or a related field
- Experience with SharePoint and website content management tools
- Familiarity with Medicaid programs, healthcare policy, or state government communications

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience in communications, public policy, or content coordination
- Excellent writing, editing, and project management skills
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Residency in the state of Wisconsin
