This position is responsible for managing all maintenance activities at the facility. This includes supervision of all mechanics and contractors. Job duties will include oversight of all preventative maintenance, equipment repairs, and troubleshooting throughout the facility. The candidate should have significant maintenance experience and be able to assist with projects as required. It is expected that these duties will be done in a safe manner, following all company policies and procedures. The employee must possess good communication skills to successfully work with the Operations and Maintenance Teams at the plant, as well as contractors. The candidate needs to be able to provide afterhours support for a 24/7 facility. An individual with a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and the ability to adapt to change is required.
Responsibilities:
Oversee general maintenance on equipment ranging from conveyors and augers to high-speed milling and bagging equipment.
Work with engineering to plan and execute plant improvement projects.
Manage mechanical and electrical contractors while onsite to ensure they are following all policies and procedures and meeting our expectations for their work.
Conduct troubleshooting for equipment breakdowns, determining the best method to get the equipment running while minimizing downtime.
Purchase all parts and materials to support the Maintenance Team.
Monitor the parts inventory and maintain proper inventories of critical items.
Provide basic electrical troubleshooting and programming support.
Must be highly efficient and able to organize work to maximize output.
Must work with the Operations Team to identify items to be addressed and areas to be improved.
Manage the Maintenance Team to cover all shifts of production in a 24/7 operation.
Follow all safety rules, policies, and procedures to maintain a safe workplace for all employees and identify opportunities for improvement.
Lead the Preventative Maintenance Program by making sure the system is up to date and on schedule.
Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.
Work with the operations team to accomplish required maintenance work while minimizing the impact on plant production.
Ensure that maintenance activities do not compromise product quality.
Working hours: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Skills:
Computer skills to allow for the creation of budgets, timelines, and management of the preventative maintenance system.
Work efficiently and independently with minimal supervision.
Capable of training mechanics and assistants to maintain all plant equipment.
Knowledge of safety programs including LOTO, Confined Space, and Fall Protection.
Education:
High School
Experience:
4-7 years
Qualifications:
5-10 years of experience in maintenance and/or maintenance management in a production environment with milling equipment.
Experience with project management and the ability to lead plant improvement projects.
