What You'll Do:
- Monitor and analyze portions of a large, multi-funding source Medicaid budget
- Develop monthly projections and estimate the fiscal impact of state or federal initiatives
- Coordinate the development of biennial budget proposals and create implementation timetables for policy proposals
- Analyze complex, shifting federal and state regulations to assess program impacts and develop strategic policy options
- Prepare statistical, budgetary, and summary management reports on expenditures and service cost analysis for leadership review
- Draft clear budget papers, policy development activities, and responses to questions from state and federal officials
- Represent the bureau in inter-divisional meetings and serve as a subject matter expert on Medicaid budget proposals and regulations
What You'll Bring:
- Strong background in budget modeling, statistical concepts, and public sector financial analysis
- Extensive knowledge of federal Medicaid regulations, state statutes, and governmental budgetary principles
- Proficiency with computerized data processing systems, spreadsheet software, and database report generation
- Proven analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data trends and financial impacts
- Effective oral and written communication skills for drafting technical reports and collaborating with diverse agency officials
- Ability to work independently under general supervision and exercise excellent professional judgment
- Experience establishing strong working relationships with internal staff, external agencies, and public stakeholders
