- Manage accounting general ledger, prepare general ledger entries as needed, monthly journal entries, and monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and income statement accounts.- Manage and process bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy, compliance with federal and state regulations, and timely distribution of pay.- Prepare and file accurate and timely sales and use tax returns for the company to state and local jurisdictions.- Monthly financial closing procedures, ensuring accurate account reconciliations, timely reporting, and compliance with accounting standards.- Process accounts payable, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments and adherence to company policies and regulatory requirements.- Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accurate cash balances, timely identification of discrepancies, and resolution of variances.- Match customer payments with invoices.- Direct and supervise Accounting Coordinator.- Supervise accounts receivable functions.- Substantiate financial transactions through recognized auditing procedures.- Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.- Assist CFO in creating, implementing and executing departmental systems and procedures.- Assist CFO in preparing monthly financial reports for the Board of Trustees.- Maintain record of employee earnings and deductions, and 401k contributions.- Create additional analyses and reports as requested by management.- Manage record retention schedules.- Research and stay updated on current taxability rules, regulations and tax rates.- Prepare and submit documentation for workers compensation audit.- Protect the company???s privacy, integrity, and value by keeping information confidential.- Perform other functions or duties as assigned.

- Bachelor???s degree or higher in Business Administration, Accounting or Finance.- Minimum of five years of experience in accounting to include working knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws, and regulations.- Experience with accounting software (NetSuite preferred).- Experience with Microsoft office applications with emphasis on Microsoft Excel.
