Our client is seeking a Student Accounts Coordinator to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This role is a vital point of contact for students, families, and staff regarding financial inquiries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for explaining billing statements, processing payments, and resolving account issues. You'll also collaborate with various internal departments to ensure timely resolution of student matters. Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for student account inquiries, providing professional and clear explanations of billing statements, payment options, and account statuses.
- Collaborate with internal departments, such as Financial Aid and the Registrar, to resolve billing issues and address complex inquiries.
- Process and record in-person payments.
- Assist with data entry and record maintenance for charges, payments, and adjustments.
- Support administrative billing tasks, including processing third-party bills, calculating veteran benefits, monitoring payment plans, and tracking deposits.
- Attend orientation sessions to provide guidance on the student billing process.
- Contribute to the improvement of policies by identifying common issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with FERPA and institutional policies.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or other financial administrative roles, with a preference for experience in higher education.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently in a fast-paced academic environment.
- Understanding of standard billing and accounts receivable practices.
- Familiarity with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is preferred.
- Familiarity with higher education ERP systems like Workday, Banner, or PeopleSoft is a plus.
- Experience working in a university or college setting is a plus.
