Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage capacity planning system utilizing existing/Visual ERP system
- Expand capacity planning system to include feeder process and assembly line production planning/sequencing
- Manage/Guide part number creation and engineering master (BOM) generation and standardization efforts
- Direct plant level costing exercises
- Act as resource for ERP improvements and troubleshooting
- Supervise/manage operations support personnel
- Act as backup to GM when GM is not available
- Production Planning: Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer orders and deadlines.
- Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed to ensure on-time delivery.
- Coordinate with various departments, including procurement, production, and logistics, to ensure materials and resources are available.
- Assist the operations manager in overseeing daily operations and managing production teams.
- Ensure production targets are met and identify areas for improvement.
- Implement and maintain production policies and procedures.
- Monitor and control inventory levels to ensure sufficient supply without overstocking.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to order necessary materials and supplies.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and resolve any discrepancies.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications.
- Collaborate with the quality control team to address any quality issues.
- Implement corrective actions to improve product quality and reduce defects.
- Track production metrics and prepare regular reports on production performance.
- Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Provide recommendations for optimizing production processes and reducing costs.
- Assist in managing and developing production staff, including training and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Address any personnel issues and escalate them to the operations manager when necessary.
- Ensure a safe working environment by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments.
- Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Support the implementation of continuous improvement methodologies.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and lead initiatives to implement changes.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement among production staff.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning or a similar role in manufacturing.
- Supervisory Leadership Skills
- Understanding of production processes and inventory management.
- Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
