Responsibilities:
- Set up job and tooling in a manner conducive to safe and efficient operation and in accord with established procedures.
- Shear, punch, brake, or otherwise fabricate parts per established procedures and production standards and to stated and acceptable quality standards.
- Use measuring tools accurately, including angle gauges, tape measures and vernier calipers.
- Perform mathematical calculations involving addition and subtraction of dimensions represented decimally or in fractions
- Read blueprints and interpret dimensions and tolerances.
- Follow Fabrication, Materials, and record keeping practices by promptly and accurately logging pertinent information.
- Keep Supervisor informed of problems or opportunities.
- Maintain equipment, tools, and work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Assist in implementation of changes in methods or procedures.
- Accurately track work hours by job and activity.
Skills:
- High school graduate or equivalent is preferred.
- Shop courses or equivalent experience is helpful.
- Experience fabricating sheet metal parts using fabrication tools and equipment is desirable.
Qualifications:
- One year work experience including use of small hand tools in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
- Good mechanical ability to read blueprints and drawings in order to fabricate parts.
- Knowledge of how to use mechanical tools, wrenches, levels, and light power tools properly and safely.
- Skill in accurately using measuring tools including angle gauges, tape measures, and vernier calipers.
- Able to perform mathematical calculations involving addition and subtraction of dimensions using decimals and/or fractions.
- Able to routinely lift 80 pounds
