      The Tooling Engineer is responsible for the research, design, development, build, validation, and implementation of tooling for new and existing products, manufacturing, and production processes. This position reports to the Plant Manager. A typical day for a Tooling Engineer will consist of a daily conference call about new and existing sales quotations. During this time ECO?s will be reviewed and action plans completed. Afterwards, a discussion with the tooling team will be conducted for evaluation of work duties and deployment of your team. The tooling team keeps our lines producing quality parts efficiently and fast. Your skills with CAD and Solid Works will allow you to draw up plans and solicit quotations for new or improved tooling concepts. Every day provides for a new challenge. Longer term projects will include organization, validation, and improvement to the tooling warehouse. A comprehensive tooling strategy should develop by the end of your first year. Develop preventative maintenance programs, advising on spare parts inventory, and coordinating the repair and servicing of tooling. Active member of the Engineering Team (cross functional group that addresses any design, quality or manufacturing concerns/needs before production starts). Ensure necessary documentation is updated for ongoing engineering changes related to tooling. Manage continuous improvement of existing molding programs to increase profitability, reduce scrap, reduce waste, and downtime reduction. Work with internal and external resources to resolve product or production issues. Lead or assist in corrective or preventive action root cause analysis, implementation, and verification. Manage a dynamic 3-5 person team. Able to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
