The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for performing professional mechanical design (plumbing, HVAC and process). The Mechanical Engineer supports marketing efforts in acquiring commercial mechanical sales (construction, service, retrofit and preventive maintenance) and performs all aspects of project management as assigned.Responsibilities:oProvide internal engineering assistance to project managers.oPerform detailed engineering calculations in regards to heating and cooling loads, code compliance, plumbing design and appropriate ASHRAE standards.oDetermine manpower requirements for engineering services and assist with evaluating staffing and projects.oReview design considerations with staff.oOversee the day to day mechanical drafting operation to maximize daily production.oProvide support materials to assist other departments in procuring work as a design/build contractor.oDevelop contacts for obtaining new engineering and construction projects for the company.oDevelop and track sales, sales leads, and promote department services. Interact with other departments to promote cooperative sales and production efforts.oOversee and direct efforts related to production and quality control.oEstimate job costs and present all proposals to be submitted for review.oPerform the management of assigned projects to meet targeted schedules and costs.
