      Spherion Staffing is looking for a Purchasing & Estimating Assistant to assist the Purchasing Manager and VP of Construction in preparing direct job cost budgets for assigned homes or projects. This includes coordination of purchase order creation, Permits, Vendor Outreach, Reporting, printing and releases.This position will also assist the Purchasing Manager with the bidding of jobs and the procurement of labor and materials to build homes per the construction start schedule of Verity Homes. Primary responsibility is to continually develop affordable and accurate estimates for projects.Salary $50k+ Monday-Friday 8 am-5 pmResponsibilities:Responsibilities:Purchasing-Assist with the review, qualifying, and onboarding of vendor partners-Compile and submit documentation for rebate programs-Solicit bids/pricing sheets from outside trades on a routine basis to confirm current competitive rates from vendor partners-Continually look for innovative products, techniques, trends in the home building industry-Discover and implement new cost control strategies-Establish standard operating procedures for purchasing, and revise existing purchasing processes and procedures-Submit Request for Quotes (RFQs) and ensure Trade Partners respond a timely fashionEstimating-Enter, issue, and update Purchase Orders/Variance Purchase Orders through online system-Maintain accurate standard option pricing and accurate static assemblies-Conduct reviews of VPO reporting to remedy material variances-Enter estimate quantities in online system, and complete EPO Review for each job-Verify Purchase Order accuracy in conjunction with ProductionPricing and Database Management-Review preliminary, permanent, and final plans for accuracy to standards and options with sales and production staff-Maintain online Cost Catalog with all trades? and suppliers? current pricing-Generate and distribute accurate purchase orders -Prepare, approve, generate and distribute variance purchase orders -Compile needed information for Building Permits, and submit Permit applications.-Ensure timely payment of Permit Invoices once issued, to avoid any impact upon the dig schedule-Process (primary) Personal Option Addendums (POAs) on a timely basis within time constraints set forth by companyWorking hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PMSkills:Requirements:- Excellent PC and Windows proficiency- Technical construction knowledge desirable- Able to flexibly manage multiple concurrent project timelines- Ability to analyze job cost variance data and take corrective actions- Organizational aptitude to manage the pre-construction process- Ability to quickly learn new software and processes, and to communicate timely via emails, phone calls, etc- Ability to handle Accounts Payable issues with suppliers when necessary- Self-starter with the initiative to implement new ideas and theories that better the CompanyEducation:AssociateExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:See above To be considered, please apply online at www.spherion.com/apply If you have any questions please contact Michael Smith at 701-412-2914Spherion has helped thousands of people just like you find work happiness!
