      Law firm in Hackensack, NJ seeking an experienced Family Law Paralegal or Legal Assistant to join their firm.Responsibilities:Responsibilities of the Family Law Paralegal:- Facilitate a positive client experience.- Patiently navigate clients through a difficult, highly emotional time in their lives.- Provide excellent support to attorneys and clients.- Continue to be a resource for clients even after their legal issue has been resolved.- Adhere to and continually enhance business processes, efficient/effective use of technology and high levels of teamwork.- Expand, develop and innovate the role to meet the dynamic needs of the company- Research and analyze law sources such as statutes, recorded judicial decisions, legal articles, treaties, constitutions, and legal codes.- Prepare legal documents such as, letters, briefs, and pleadings, for review, and approval and use by the attorney.- File all court documents with the court clerk.- Prepare affidavits of documents and maintain document files.- Deliver or direct delivery of subpoenas to witnesses and parties to action.- Meet yearly requirements of 474 hours, billed to client for work performed in the 1820 hours of work required.- Answer a minimum of 3 client service calls per week or 147 calls per year.- Responsible for assisting attorneys in maintaining a 90% or better collections rate per month and year.Working hours: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PMSkills:The ideal candidate will have proven abilities to research law, investigate facts, prepare documents and facilitate client service in communications to assist attorneys in their legal matters.Education:No Degree RequiredExperience:1-4 yearsQualifications:Requirements of the Family Law Paralegal:- 2+ years experience working with Family Law in NJ- Experience e-filing in NJ state and federal courts required- Proficient with Microsoft Office and Salesforce- Experience working with iManage a plus- Paralegal Certificate preferred but not required- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.- Must be able to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.- Must be able to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.- Must be able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.- Must be able to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10?s and 100?s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.- Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.- Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
